Handmade bricks are the most labor-intensive. They are individually hand-pressed in sand-coated wooden molds. They have rich character, and are often the best match for older settings.
Handmade Oversize (HMO) size shown in the picture is most common for wall veneering.
Product is cut to order and usually ships within 7-15 business days
This specific brick initially originates from a full brick. Due to the fragility of this product, occasional microscopic cracks are very common caused by bricks firing and some will crack during cutting process.
Needless to say, this product is not flawless from the very start. In order to achieve a thin veneer form, it requires cutting. This type of process involves selling a full brick with an additional charge for cutting it. Thin veneer recovery is never a 100%. We typically pack the entire order amount which will include the fractured pieces into the boxes.
In most cases customers utilize cracked pieces for cuts and infills. Others seek the broken pieces to add more character to the finished product. There are minimums and quantity roundups applied to match full brick purchasing requirements. With all this being said, the latest technology available, and fully automated process we are capable of producing tens of thousands of cuts each day, consequently reducing product price, and increasing options of thin brick veneer textures and colors for our clients. At the end of the day our customers can achieve desirable look that seemed impossible.
Molded Full Bed Brick is produced in wooden molds. This process delivers two usable sides of brick, allowing us to achieve two thin bricks out of one full one. However, we only get one corner out of one full brick.
Handmade bricks are typically manufactured to conform to the requirements of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Specification C 216, Grade SW, Type FBA and all grades of ASTM C 62. These products also conform to the requirements of ASTM C 216, Grade MW. Certain products meet the requirements of ASTM C 902 or ASTM C 32. Inquiries should be made for specific applications or conformance to standards other than ASTM C 216 or C 62.
Note: Product colors are illustrated as accurately as photographic & digital reproduction techniques allow. Final color selection should be made from actual product samples. Please contact us to order your thin brick samples.
