Designer Metal grid system (DMG)
The Brick-It™ Designer Metal Grid System (DMG) is the original patented, Brick-It™ panel system and is our most popular. It's the best way to install thin brick because the patented metal grid was designed to:
- Brick It Metal Panel System has been in use for nearly 40 years and it was patented in April of 1987.
- Most popular and fastest Thin Brick assembly method!
- Allows for simple, fast and efficient installation to everyone. Industry professionals & DIY enthusiasts.
- Creates perfectly aligned brick veneer every time.
- Interlocking feature and structural panel shape provide equal weight distribution of the veneer, reinforces building’s corners and provides additional support to the wall itself.
Designer Metal grid system
Brick-It™ Designer Metal Grid Panel (DMG) is now available to accommodate all thin brick sizes; 2 1/4” H (Modular, Standard, Norman, Saxon), 2 1/2” H (Modified Standard, Modified Norman), 2 5/8”H (Queen) 2 3/4” (King, Kingston), 3 5/8” H (Closure/Econo, Utility, Titan), 7 5/8” H (8-Square, Double Utility).

The Brick-It™ Patented Panel (DMG)
United States Patent #4,773,201
Florida Product Approval #FL14427
The panel is a G-60 Galvanized (non-corrosive) Metal formed to a patented Structural shape to align brick courses and to support and ensure a mechanical bond of each brick in place. It was created to make the installation of thin brick easy and durable. The shelves are for supporting the bricks and create perfect mortar lines. The interlocking edges found every three courses, at the top and the bottom of each panel become triple metal shelves that provide additional support to each grid and reinforce the wall. The interlocking edges produce level and straight horizontal lines creating perfectly aligned bricks every time. Mortar anchoring slots ensure mortar joint bonding to the grid. Linear array of holes is designed for adhesive to provide a mechanical attachment between the brick, grid and substrate. Adhesive holes also provide a way for adhesive to seep to the back of the panel and bridge any “oil canning” gaps commonly occurring by mechanical sheet metal fastening processes, resulting in solid veneer installation against the wall. Roll formed continuous ledges make this panel extremely rigid. In addition, the need for starter channels, special corner panels is entirely eliminated as it adopts to those situations. We also create a staggered corner panel installation eliminating a continuous vertical joints in the panel additionally adding strength to the wall. The Brick-It™ Patented Panel system is the simplest and strongest installation system available making it preferable and most popular way of Thin Brick installations.
